Job Summary:
The Senior QA Specialist will contribute to testing activities within the CDT project, focusing on the delivery and product management lifecycle. This role involves leading and participating in the development of test strategies, test cases, and test scripts, as well as managing and scheduling all testing activities. The specialist will also be responsible for defect tracking, resolution, and communication to the project team. Location: Ontario, Canada, Responsibilities:
- Lead and contribute to the development of test strategies, test cases/scenarios, test scripts, and regression tests.
- Manage and schedule all test activities, including test case development, DevOps maintenance, AODA, and stress/load testing.
- Lead the team in executing test cases and scripts, managing defects, and tracking resolutions.
- Review functional and design specifications to ensure full understanding of deliverables.
- Identify test requirements, map test cases, and design test coverage plans.
- Identify and escalate potential quality issues.
- Develop, document, and maintain functional, system, and UAT test cases and other test artifacts.
- Supervise and participate in the execution of manual test cases and report test results.
- Oversee the documentation of software defects and track resolution.
- Develop test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate functionality.
- Support User Acceptance Testing and lead initial UAT sessions.
- Review user documentation and provide feedback.
- Manage and maintain the defect log and communicate defect-related issues.
- Work closely with QA teams, business resources, and vendor resources to ensure appropriate logging, tracking, prioritization, and remediation of defects.
- Prepare test data sets that mimic real-world scenarios.
- Create and execute database queries to extract relevant data.
- Execute and evaluate manual/automated test cases and report test results.
- Facilitate test plan/test case reviews with cross-functional team members. Required Skills & Certifications:
- 8+ years of demonstrated QA experience, including leading QA teams.
- Experience in defect tracking using a collaborative tool.
- Knowledge and experience in the use of version control systems, preferably Microsoft DevOps.
- Experience coordinating testing activities with project managers and other team members.
- Knowledge and experience in all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
