Salary Range: $19.48/hour as per Schedule “B”
Starting Date/Duration: May 2025 - September 2025

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Construction inspection support to assist with the city’s capital construction projects including road reconstruction, asphalt rehabilitation, crack sealing, sidewalk replacements, retaining wall replacements, etc.
  2. Measuring quantities and drafting payment certificates.
  3. Quantity take-offs for estimating purposes.
  4. Reviewing CCTV of storm and sanitary sewers.
  5. Infrastructure assessments for various city asset categories.
  6. Support inspection of new developments as required.
  7. Assist the city’s Utility Locator with utility locates during peak periods.
  8. Miscellaneous data processing within the Engineering Department, as required.
  9. Miscellaneous field duties within the Engineering Department, as required.

Qualifications:

  • Secondary School Graduation diploma.
  • Must be pursuing a post-secondary education as Civil Construction Technician, Civil Engineering Technologist or Constructing Engineering Technologist from a Community College.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; Proficiency with spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel preferred.
  • A valid Ontario driver’s license (minimum Class G), in good standing and reliable vehicle.

Working Conditions:

  • 35- hour work week; Monday to Friday.
  • Municipal office conditions, subject to frequent interruptions responding to staff inquiries.
  • Occasional work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Usage of personal vehicle may be required depending on availability of City vehicles.
