Description of the job
(Minimum of 30 hours per week - June to August 2025)
The Wasaga Beach Public Library is seeking an energetic and self-motivated individual to perform the duties and responsibilities of Library Summer Program Assistant to develop and carry out programs, events and activities offered either virtually or in-person at the Library during the summer.
Qualifications:
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment;
- have a valid Social Insurance number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations;
- Strong organizational and people skills;
- Experience working with children in a variety of programs and settings;
- Experience initiating and implementing a variety of youth programs;
- Possess effective interpersonal, communication and customer service skills with a demonstrated ability and enthusiasm for working with the public;
- Available June-August inclusive - hours include weekdays, weekends and evenings;
- Able to provide an appropriate criminal reference check, vulnerable sector, upon hire.
