Job Description
- Responsible for Operations & Maintenance of BSS/Radio Network consisting of macro sites, small cells, microwave and fiber transmission, and indoor (DAS) sites, L2/L3 switching/routing devices and DC-power equipment.
- The candidate should possess good knowledge of wireless, 3G/LTE/5G radio networks, IP and transmission backhaul networks.
- Participate in on-call rotational schedule and emergency staff augmentation. This can involve working nights and on weekends.
- 24X7 availability. Respond to dispatch as required during service hours and on-call periods Participate in maintenance window (night work) for preventive and corrective activities and working on trouble tickets for service restoration work.
- Action assigned trouble tickets for minor/major/critical issues, minimize outage times and maintain MTTR SLA.
- Troubleshooting and implementing corrective actions on Radio and transmission network to restore outages and to eliminate factors which can cause service outages.
- Replacing field Access and Transport faulty parts and engaging rigging crew when required.
- Execute activities related to WO/CHGs from engineering for corrective and optimization actions.
- Perform cell site acceptance with in-house rollout teams or vendors for new installs or network upgrades.
- Transport network acceptance and testing from internal/external service provider (new or upgrade/downgrade) including RFC2544 testing.
- Performing detailed call testing (TCM – Test Call Matrix) in the field required during Field and Core projects, to verify customer complaints, and to confirm/verify a certain KPI degradation in the network.
- Preventive Maintenance (PM) routine of Access and Transport nodes on the field including battery test, call test, RAN elements, microwave measurements, safety audit, LOS verification and site housekeeping.
- Responsible for site safety, performing safety audits and reporting any concerns to the site safety committee.
- Cell site spares and repair return management.
- Working with the team to hook up portable generators on site in case of power outages.
- Attend group meetings and collaboration with other groups.
- Maintain good relations with the landlords and property managers where our sites are installed.
- In addition to network maintenance activities within the assigned geographic area, this role may also require travelling to other markets/ cities to help with projects, emergency outages or to attend trainings.
- Working on rooftops
- Working on ground equipment underneath towers (no climbing required or allowed beyond 10 feet)
- Some lifting of 50 lb equipment.
- Valid Ontario issued ‘G’ class driver’s license with clean record
- Working experience on Nokia Radio and Transmission network preferred.
