We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead all plant quality systems and initiatives at our Collingwood manufacturing facility. This role is critical to ensuring compliance, exceeding customer expectations, and supporting continuous improvement across the plant.
The Role:- Oversee quality team: 3 Direct Reports, 10 indirect
- Ensure all plant quality systems and practices comply with IATF 16949 and customer requirements
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality systems, procedures, and documentation
- Plan and oversee internal and external audits of processes, equipment, and personnel
- Act as the main escalation point for customer quality concerns, driving containment, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
- Facilitate structured problem-solving using tools such as 5‑Why, Ishikawa, and 5P; coach and mentor others on effective application
- Manage supplier quality, including raw glass and component performance
- Lead, train, coach, and develop quality personnel while supporting performance management
- Own and manage key programs including Safe Launch, New Model Introduction (NMI), and the Ambassador Program
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to achieve KPIs such as Internal PPM, External PPM, and Cost of Quality (COQ)
- Actively champion Continuous Improvement and Lean initiatives
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of all quality reports and documentation
- Support achievement of plant performance goals and budget targets
- Communicate with certification bodies as required (e.g., IATF containment reporting)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
- 5+ years of quality experience in an automotive manufacturing facility or Tier 1 supplier (plastics injection molding or glass)
- Previous people leadership or supervisory experience
- Internal Auditor experience and/or certification
- Strong working knowledge of APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, and PPAP
- Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification (preferred)
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or Operational Excellence initiatives
