Job Summary:
The Senior Solution Architect role is within the Lands and Resources Cluster (LRC) and the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness (OMAFA). The architect will be responsible for updating the Enterprise Architecture for the AgriSuite Portfolio (AgriSuite), providing leadership and guidance to project teams, and ensuring alignment with industry best practices and government standards. This role involves creating and maintaining architecture models, identifying risks, facilitating validation sessions, and supporting Agile Enterprise Architecture delivery. Location:Ontario, Canada Responsibilities:
- Update, develop, and validate solution architecture models/artifacts.
- Collaborate with cluster staff, project teams, and subject matter experts.
- Develop artifacts leveraging cluster/ministry tools and model repositories.
- Identify and manage risks, facilitating mitigation strategies.
- Arrange and facilitate validation sessions and Enterprise Architecture meetings.
- Develop reference architecture artifacts/models/patterns.
- Support the process of acquiring cluster and corporate approvals.
- Provide status updates to project teams and the Enterprise Architecture unit.
- Ensure knowledge transfer and deliver project deliverables to cluster staff.
- Adhere to OPS GO-ITS Standards and revise architectures as needed.
- Utilize and incorporate OPS Reference Architectures into project architectures. Required Skills & Certifications:
- Depth of knowledge in enterprise architecture domains (business, information, application, technology, security).
- Proficiency in architecture frameworks and standards such as TOGAF or Zachman.
- Ability to design, integrate, and optimize solution architectures.
- Strong technical problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on experience developing application architecture artifacts.
- Demonstrated experience leading solution architecture projects.
- Experience preparing and delivering presentations to architecture review boards.
- Experience reporting progress and raising risks/issues.
- 5+ years of experience. Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience as a business architect.
- Experience as a solution/application architect.
- Experience with enterprise-scale COTS solutions, Oracle Siebel preferred.
- Knowledge of Zachman Framework.
- Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA).
- OPS experience.
- Hands-on experience creating architecture artifacts, models and/or reports using PowerDesigner, or Visio, or other tools.
- Experience leading project teams through the Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) process, Threat Risk Assessment (TRA) process and other technical or security assessment processes as required. Special Considerations: Scheduling:
